A Great Image From the Getty

Posted in Photography by Bridget Casas on June 29, 2009

I took this photograph at the Getty Villa. They have a lot of people standing around telling you not to take photos of this and that. However, I took this image of a window and in that window was this beautiful reflection. I was up on the second floor and there were windows all around each exhibit room onto a hallway with a kind of atrium in the middle. I was very happy with the results and I hope you like it. I guess there are no rules against taking pictures of their windows!

It was a good day today but a little cooler than yesterday. I made an appointment to take both Kyla and Donnan for a grooming on Friday.  Willie was just on the phone with his father (he will be 87 in August). He frustrates Willie so much it is almost funny. He is the only parent left for the two of us. He has always been a very nice man. Willie calls him at least once a day, most days twice, and Larry is over there too helping his grandpa when he can. He takes very good care of himself and he lives alone. He doesn’t drive anymore so he asks me for a ride once in a while. No problem – I will help as much as I can too.

Bee Time With Lavender

Posted in Photography by Bridget Casas on January 7, 2009

Lavender is such a beautiful flower and smells so good. Obviously this little bee is pretty fond of it too! This is a photo I took at the Getty Villa. It is such a fantastic place to take photographs! I also love the color of the lavender plant. Their are so many variations of the color purple. My mother never liked the color purple. She always said it was an old ladies color. That must have been so during the time she grew up.

This bee is really enjoying himself…!

We went to Larry and Shelley’s last night for Shelley’s birthday. The cheesecake I made came out really good! It was so very rich, I couldn’t even finish my piece. That has never happened to me before! I love cheesecake! Anyway, Shelley was surprised and thankful. Willie wrote her a very nice note. He is very good at that. It was cold last night so I wore my new Burns Clan scarf from Scotland. It looked very good on me. What will tomorrow bring?

Back at the Getty Villa

Posted in Photography by Bridget Casas on December 19, 2008

This is not what I was planning on posting today but I was unable to get what I wanted last night.  I went through my photos and came up with this shot I took at the Getty Villa. It is such a beautiful place to go. I love the look of this corridor and its gorgeous shiny tile floor.  How do they keep it like that with all the foot traffic?

A long Roman corridor…

There was no more rain yesterday but a lot of big fluffy clouds.  It was very cold. I kind of relaxed yesterday and didn’t do much. I spent some time brushing the dogs. They need some attention after getting soaked in the rain the other day. Kyla is not too crazy about getting brushed. She had a lot of mats and she is a big crybaby. Donnan is more tolerant. I will work at getting something different for tomorrow’s post.

One More For My Calendar

Posted in Photography by Bridget Casas on November 26, 2008

For the past five years I have made a calendar with photographs I have taken during the year. I give some out as Christmas presents. There are many people who expect them and look forward to them. I worked on it yesterday and came across this photograph I thought you might enjoy. It was taken at the Getty Villa in Pacific Palisades. We will be going again to the Villa this coming Spring. I really enjoy doing the calendar for my family and friends.

Beautiful Lily Pad Pond…

Donnan’s BooBoo looks really good. Very clean and healthy. He is leaving it alone so I guess it is not bothering him. We finally got some rain yesterday. It started at about 8:00 P.M., off and on with some thunder. The dogs do not like that. It is supposed to rain Thursday. I hope not because we have to drive out to Corona to my brother’s house. His wife Mary is a very good cook. It will be a good day. Until tomorrow…
