Well, you can’t say this isn’t different! Do you have a junk drawer? This is ours, and, as you can tell, it has not been cleaned out for a long, long time. I am afraid to put my hands in there! You can see a lot of the places we have been, and items we horde. Need a plate hanger or a popsicle stick? How about some shoelaces or an old cereal coupon? It is all right here taking up precious space in our kitchen!
Anything you need…?
What does your junk drawer look like? I bet it doesn’t look like ours. It is another beautiful day here in Huntington Beach. Check out the HB Web Cam and you can see how great it is! We are going to dinner at some friends Saturday night. Carol is going to let me know how the dog training is going. They got a trainer for their border terrier Ali. I am looking forward to the evening. Also, one of my classes begins Saturday morning. I am hoping we will be able to see Larry and Shelley this week-end. Until tomorrow…
Let me introduce a cute little rat terrier I photographed named Trigger. I took a lot of photos of him at Central Park and had a lot of fun rolling on the ground trying to keep up with him. He is a little guy with a lot of energy! He lives with a very nice family including a little 4 year old girl who is just as active and has as much energy as him! It was a fun afternoon. I don’t know how I was lucky enough to get this photo with him sitting still and looking right at me!
Isn’t he a little cutey…?
This afternoon begins my special week-end. It is my birthday on Sunday and Larry is taking me to Las Vegas to see Barry Manilow! It will just be the two of us and it was all his idea. Isn’t he the best son ever? It is a four hour drive and the show is at 8:00 P.M. We will come home on Saturday afternoon. Willie and I used to go once or twice a year, but it has been about four years since we last went to Las Vegas. My next post may be late so please don’t hold it against me!
Yesterday did not go as I had envisioned or hoped. Carol and Bob got here at about 11:45 and left at 4:00. Between their Ali and our Donnan, it did not work. They both need to go to the Dog Whisperer’s center and learn how to become calm dogs. Talk about red zone cases! Kyla was good and wondered why they all couldn’t just be friends. Catey had no problems either; she is a very happy girl. There were no photographs just a lot of walks to try to calm down the dogs. We all decided we would work with our dogs and they will come back this summer to go fishing at the lake! So that is that for now!
Beautiful blue sky and white snow…
The WiFi is really good up here and I don’t even have to go to town to use it. I took this photo behind our cabin. It is all National Forest back there. The stumps are trees that were cut down because of the fire in October, 2007. The fire came up to 3 feet from the back of our cabin and burned down many, many cabins in the area. We were lucky, except Allstate Insurance cancelled us – they made a lot of money over the years with no claims from us! It is clouding up quite a bit outside. I think we are going to head back home on Monday. Until tomorrow…
Is this a ferocious lion in my backyard? Well, not really – it is my baby girl Kyla. I thought this was a funny photo of her so I thought I would share it with you. It is very difficult to get photos of the dogs. They will not hold still or cooperate. I enjoy taking photos of dogs, not just my own. I have quite a few I took last summer on my website under Animals.
Look at my ferocious little girl…
Willie and I spent the afternoon yesterday doing some housework. Then we watched some episodes of Mad Men; an interesting show. I spoke with my friend Carol last night and invited her and her husband Bill to the mountains next Saturday. There will be a full moon on the 10th. I am hoping it will be a clear night so I can take some photographs of the moon, the lake and hopefully some snow. Carol likes to take photos too. We have taken many classes together over the years. That’s it for today – until tomorrow…
Donnan ran in the house yesterday after a rough morning of playing with Kyla. On his nose was this very pretty leaf. He must know that I enjoy photographing pretty leaves and brought it in for me to see. I had to take his photograph. Doesn’t he look cute? It was very thoughtful of him. Do I live in a world of denial or make believe?
My little sweety Donnan…
We woke up to rain this morning. It should be clear tomorrow than rain the rest of the week. We were going to go up to the mountains but there is a lot of snow. I don’t know what we are going to do for Christmas. I guess we will probably just stay home. It is just Willie and me this year, and of course the dogs. I don’t think they really care about Christmas though. I am really missing my mom a lot and then Larry and Shelley will be gone. Next year will be very different. The new year will be full of a lot of surprises and fun! Until tomorrow…
I caught Kyla on our bed yesterday morning. Maybe the whole election thing was too much for her! I should have chased her off but instead I grabbed the camera. She is such a sweety! I am just sorry I had to use the flash. She does like to get up on the bed sometimes when we are in bed but not by herself. I have been looking into the AKC Canine Good Citizen training for her. She is just about there. Donnan will take a little longer. For some reason, he barks and shows fear when around strangers and other dogs. Anyway, check it out. It is for any dog – no need to be AKC registered.
One pretty, lazy dog….
I will probably be taking Donnan for his surgery next week. His growth is not getting any smaller. I am hoping it is just a glob of fat and nothing else. Of course, I will let you know. Flash class is tonight. It is starting to wind down and we will be starting our final projects soon. We will lose one week of class because of Thanksgiving so I need to work hard.
Let me introduce you to Catey (Cairn Terrier) and Ali (Border Terrier). There are two other pictures of them on my website under Animals, etc. I believe I told you a little story about Ali a few weeks ago – she is the one who got the piece of soap stuck in her mouth! The dogs are about the same age as our Kyla and Donnan – Ali almost two and Catey almost three. The four of them have never met! Maybe one day – we talk about it!
Catey and Ali live with my friend Carol and her husband in Laguna Niguel. As I took this photo, they were waiting for Carol to give them a treat. She had their total attention! I thought it was hot two days ago; it was worse yesterday. It was HOT here in Huntington Beach and I do not think it will get any better for a few days. Just when you think summer is over it pulls you back in! Anyway, aren’t they cute little dogs? Very sweet too!
