We finally picked up the MGB today. I think it looks great! I took this photograph at the shop before we took off to take it to the upholsterer. So far, it has been a year and a half, and we are not finished yet. This has been a big project. We do have photos along the way, through the different stages of the project.

It looks great but looking great is not what an open sports car is about.
A sports car is not to be the fastest in a straight line. It is to be the fastest from point to point on winding roads.
I am sorry to say the motor just has not got the power to hack it with a modern car.
The MGB needs a 2-litre modern motor in it. Something with a lot more power that won’t add weight. The brakes and handling should still be OK.
Anti-roll bars and beefed up springs in the back. Maybe larger disks in the front for braking.
Under hard braking at speed the back wheels tend to lift, so disks on the back may not be benifical. it is the front brakes that heat up and glow in the dark.
